Meet Steven McDowell

Builder. Designer. Project Leader.

Steven McDowell is the owner of Sienna Building Company and works directly with clients throughout the custom-home process—from evaluating a property and assembling the design team to pricing, construction, and final completion.

Rather than handing clients from one department to another, Steven remains personally involved in the decisions that shape each home. His role is to connect design intent, construction realities, and budget considerations so the project moves forward with greater clarity and fewer surprises.

A Builder-Led Approach

Steven’s experience extends beyond construction management. He has designed homes for himself, developed spec homes, and coordinated architects, interior designers, landscape designers, subcontractors, and suppliers on custom residences throughout Bend and Central Oregon.

That broad perspective allows him to evaluate decisions from several angles at once: how a home will look, how it will function, how it will be built, and how each choice affects the overall budget and schedule.

Steven believes the best homes result from making informed decisions early. Detailed planning, actual trade pricing, direct communication, and disciplined coordination form the foundation of every Sienna project.

Why I Build

I enjoy taking a property, a set of ideas, and a client’s priorities and turning them into a home that feels intentional and complete.

For me, custom homebuilding is not simply about managing construction. It is about helping clients make hundreds of interconnected decisions in the right order—while protecting the design, the budget, and the quality of the finished home.

I remain directly involved because clients deserve to know who is responsible for their project and who they can call when a decision needs to be made.
